Serve Saturday

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in…” – Matthew 25:34
As of this week, there are now almost 1400 migrant children that have been brought to the convention center downtown. They are mostly young girls, ages 5-17, who were seeking asylum at the border and have now been relocated here. You can read more about the children at the San Diego Convention Center here. Many of the children at the convention center (ages 5-17) came here with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. This is a list of urgent needs:
  • New blankets
  • New clothing (women’s size small and medium jackets, sweatshirts, long-sleeved tops, pants, and shoes/slippers)
  • New toiletry items (soap/body wash, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste/toothbrush, hair brushes)
Please start collecting these items and bring them to one of the Serve Saturday Drop-Offs on April 17th or April 24th from 12-2pm in the Makers Church Courtyard. Or you can purchase items directly from Hope for SD’s Amazon Wishlist and they’ll deliver them to the organizations at the Convention Center.
